Tottenham Sign Bentley, Pavlyuchenko and Arshavin Next?

David Bentley has completed his transfer to North London, with a £15million move to Tottenham Hotspur that could rise to £17million. He has put pen to paper on a 6-year contract.

Bentley To Sign For Spurs

As reported here, David Bentley looks set to sign for Tottenham Hotspur in a deal worth £18million. Reports suggest that the former Arsenal man could be a Spurs player by the weekend, following a medical on Wednesday.

Spurs have been interested in Bentley for some time now, and no doubt the sale of Robbie Keane to Liverpool has allowed the North London club to reach an agreement with Blackburn. Spurs fans will be happy to see Bentley arrive, after the disappointment of seeing Keane leave.

Blackburn manager Paul Ince did not want to let Bentley leave, but the 23-year-old made it clear he wanted out, stating European football as his motivation.

The winger has been at Blackburn since 2006, and has scored 13 goals in 102 appearances in that time, as well as winning 6 England caps.

Spurs are reportedly closing in on the signings of Espanyol forward Luis Garcia and Blackburn winger David Bentley.

Garcia has scored 24 times in just under 80 appearances for the Spanish club, and despite the club stating that his possible arrival has no link to the future of the North London club’s current strikers, it fuels speculation that Berbatov and/or Keane are set to leave Read more

England v USA: Terry Captains Side to Victory

John Terry has captained England to a 2-0 win against a ‘ordinary’ at best USA team. Terry opened the scoring 5 mins before the half-time interval, with Gerrard making it two on the hour.
