Liverpool and Arsenal Struggle in Europe

Both Liverpool and Arsenal struggled this evening in their respective Champions League qualifiers. The Reds only managed a 0-0 stalemate in Liege, while Arsenal were outplayed for much of their 2-0 win over Steve McClaren’s FC Twente.
With the Premier League campaign just days away, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger will surely be worried after a poor performance in the Netherlands this evening. Read more

Bentley To Sign For Spurs

As reported here, David Bentley looks set to sign for Tottenham Hotspur in a deal worth £18million. Reports suggest that the former Arsenal man could be a Spurs player by the weekend, following a medical on Wednesday.
Spurs have been interested in Bentley for some time now, and no doubt the sale of Robbie Keane to Liverpool has allowed the North London club to reach an agreement with Blackburn. Spurs fans will be happy to see Bentley arrive, after the disappointment of seeing Keane leave.
Blackburn manager Paul Ince did not want to let Bentley leave, but the 23-year-old made it clear he wanted out, stating European football as his motivation.
The winger has been at Blackburn since 2006, and has scored 13 goals in 102 appearances in that time, as well as winning 6 England caps.
Alexander Hleb Signs For Barcelona

Tottenham have agreed a deal to sign PSV Eindhoven keeper Heurelho Gomes to White Hart Lane - surely ending Paul Robinson’s spell at the club.
The deal to bring Gomes to North London is subject to personal terms being agreed, along with a work permit and a medical being passed.
