Tottenham To Sign Garcia and Bentley?

July 11, 2008 by CLDsport

Spurs LogoSpurs are reportedly closing in on the signings of Espanyol forward Luis Garcia and Blackburn winger David Bentley.

Garcia has scored 24 times in just under 80 appearances for the Spanish club, and despite the club stating that his possible arrival has no link to the future of the North London club’s current strikers, it fuels speculation that Berbatov and/or Keane are set to leave White Hart Lane.

Ramos knows Garcia well from his time in charge of Sevilla, and is said to be impressed with his ability to create as well as score goals. Ramos has already secured the services of Croatia star Luca Modric, Barcelona’s Giovani Dos Santos, and keeper Heurelho Gomes (subject to a work permit) this summer, and the signings of Garcia and Bentley would only add the annual Spurs fan’s pre-season optimism.

New Blackburn manager Paul Ince is not keen on selling Bentley, but the 23-year-old is keen to leave Ewood Park - with Spurs seemingly at the front of the queue.

Liverpool are said to be ‘very interested’ in securing the transfer of Robbie Keane. Rumours had suggested that Keane had asked for a transfer, but these reports seem to be false. Spurs are not looking to sell any first-team players this summer - Keane, and Berbatov included.
