Tottenham Have ‘No Interest’ in Signing Eto’o
After all the rumours surrounding Samuel Eto’o and his impending transfer to Spurs - including the report on this very site - it looked like a done deal. However, today Assistant Manager Gus Poyet has quashed the reports, saying Tottenham have ‘no interest’ in signing the Cameroon international.
Poyet said on Spanish radio station that Ona FM: “Samuel Eto’o is not a priority for our team. Moreover, we’re not interested in him. We’ll be having a meeting next week to talk about signings, as we’ve already made an interesting one for next season.”
Poyet is of course talking about Spurs’ new £16million signing Luca Modric, signed last month from Dinamo Zagreb. The 22-year-old Croatian midfielder looks to be an exciting prospect.
