Paul Robinson Signs For Blackburn Rovers
Spurs keeper Paul Robinson has sealed his £3.5million transfer from White Hart Lane to Blackburn Rovers, signing a 5-year contract with the Ewood Park outfit.
Robinson endured a terrible season last year, losing his place in the Spurs team, as well as being replaced as the England number 1 after a drop in confidence and a loss of form.
Robinson has been at White Hart Lane since 2004 after signing from Leeds Utd for a fee of £1.5million, and has made 175 appearances for the club in that time.
Despite this, his drop in form has cost him his place at Spurs. Although he returned to the starting 11 for the latter stages of the Carling Cup (including the final vs Chelsea), his lack of confidence was always a concern.
The final nail in the coffin came when Ramos signed Brazilian keeper Heurelho Gomes last month from Dutch club PSV for a fee thought to be around £8million.
Robinson is thought to be replacing American Brad Friedel at Ewood Park, who is on the verge of a move to Aston Villa.
