Cristiano Ronaldo Admits He Wants To Leave Manchester United

June 5, 2008 by CLDsport

Cristiano RonaldoBreaking News: Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly told the press that he wants to leave Manchester United for Real Madrid - and the ball is in United’s court.

Ronaldo said on Terra (a Brazilian website):

“I would like to play for Real Madrid but only if it is true they are ready to pay what Manchester United ask of them. However, it does not depend on me.”

CLDsport have tried to stay away from all the rumours surrounding Ronaldo’s future, but as this is the first definitive admission from the player that he wants to leave the club, it’s time to break our silence.

Our opinion of late has simply been ‘there’s no smoke without fire’. With so much talk surrounding the Portuguese winger, there had to be some substance behind the story. Real Madrid have admitted they want the star, and Barcelona even pitted in yesterday, claiming that they are interested.

Ronaldo has always stated his desire to play for Madrid in the future, and it seems the lure of the Bernabeu is proving too much of a temptation. So, now comes his admission.

Man Utd will be desperate to keep hold of their star player, who finished as top scorer this season after scoring 41 times from midfield, and will surely do everything in their power to do so. But, can you really expect to the club to keep a player that has clearly stated his desire to leave? Whereas Ronaldo is a very important player for the Old Trafford club, morale will suffer if he is made to stay in Manchester.

More to come soon………. Watch this space……….

NB: Just why Ronaldo told a Brazilian website rather than a more mainstream media outlet is unknown!

good on you ronaldo go where you lyk u can’t be held down by the rotting hands of mr ferguson. If you stay your soul will be held firmly in the grip of the red devils as you rot on the side lines watching your team lose game after game to arsenal. Noone wants to see that now do they so just go so that i can enjoy your skills as a football fan and not despise them as a manchester united hater.
