The Weekend Preview - 11th May 2008 - Judgement Day

May 9, 2008

Premier League LogoThis weekend, the last of the English Premier League campaign, is one of the most exciting in recent times. With relegations and the title to be decided on Sunday, nerves are in abundance all around the country.

The biggest two encounters sees Man Utd travel to the JJB Stadium to take on Wigan knowing that a win will give them a record 10th Premier League title - and a minimum of £50million in prize money.

Meanwhile, Chelsea face Bolton at Stamford Bridge with the knowledge that all they can do is win - and hope United slip up against Wigan. Bolton should provide a stern test as they are fighting their own battle to avoid the drop.

Speaking of relegation, Birmingham face Blackburn, Reading travel to already relegated Derby, and Fulham face Portsmouth at Fratton Park.

The three clubs are separated by a single point and it’s likely that only one of them will survive (although Bolton can still be drawn into it).

All matches will kick-off at 3pm on Sunday. There will be two premiership trophies available on Sunday. One at Old Trafford and one at Stamford Bridge. With the title in Man Utd’s favour, the genuine trophy will be based in Manchester, with a replica ready to be presented to Chelsea should they finish above United.
