June 22, 2008 by CLDsport · Leave a Comment

Euro 2008Spain have beaten Italy 4-2 on penalties after a disappointing 0-0 draw after 120 minutes of play.

The Italians are deservedly out of the tournament, after playing negatively throughout. Their completely unattractive style of football is a bore, and it would have been a travesty if they had gone through to the semi-finals. It almost looked as though they were playing for penalties from the very first minute. Read more

Raikkonen finished second but was in total control of the race until his Ferrari suffered a cracked exhaust, burning away the bodywork and part of the airbox. Massa had no answer to Raikkonen’s pace until he passed the limping lead Ferrari on lap 39. He carried Read more

New Zealand win in Bristol to level the series

June 21, 2008 by Rob Scanlon · Leave a Comment

England CricketNew Zealand (182 all out) beat England (160 all out) by 22 runs.

England’s batsmen failed to chase a seemingly regulation total on a bouncy Bristol wicket as the Natwest series was levelled at 1-1 this afternoon. Paul Collingwood was clearly disappointed that his side, with a good batting line up, couldn’t knock off the 182 the tourists set, with none of his players managing a half century. It was Collingwood’s 34 that ended up as England’s top score, and when he was the 8th man out with the team still needing 30 more, the Read more

French GP Qualifying: Raikkonen On Pole

June 21, 2008 by Dominic Alder · Leave a Comment

Formula 1Kimi Raikkonen will start tomorrow’s French Grand Prix on pole after a unflustered performance put him ahead of his Ferrari team mate Felipe Massa.

This was classic Raikkonen – unflustered and calculated. The on-board footage picked up a great deal of over-driving – Hamilton, Massa and Alonso were all guilty. Ferrari have the most balanced car this weekend, particularly in sector three, and must start tomorrow as favourites for a 1-2. Read more
